Got sidetracked from my dragon AGAIN because I started doodling knight concepts. Can you guys tell that I like the whole ‘mouth visor’ look for knight monsters?

Glutton knights will feed on unseelie fae, witches, undead, dragons, whatever–if it has a negative energy signature, they’ll probably eat it. Usually each has a specific preference in prey that initially started out as a vendetta (while they were human) and matured into a hunger for that particular brand of power. This usually reflects somewhat in their form, their future mutations, their abilities, and often their attitudes (knights that feed on witches are more likely to kill humans and benign magic users, whereas a dragon-hunting knight might be easier for normal folks to get along with).

Their transformation is essentially a weird form of osmosis. Interacting with magic during their crusades–whether from shrugging off spells, wandering through fey wilds, or breathing the arcane smoke residues of dragonfire–has built up over time and altered them at a base level.

Wild magic (at least in most of my canons/universes) can basically be treated as a form of radiation, or even a cancer in the case of curses/corruption/etc. The key difference is that it doesn’t usually kill the victim outright, and a strong-willed individuals may mentally (and thus biologically) subjugate arcane contamination, causing severe mutation rather than death. It’s more an instinctive process than an intentional one, as most of these knights would, in their rights minds, have preferred to die of spell sickness rather than become abominations.

The eye on the inside of the mouth reminds me of a creature my friend made that was based off of a venus flytrap. It had six legs two arms a weird pot with legs in the back, and 8 or 10 eyes on the inside of the mouth, and was freaking HUGE! Like the mouth when open was a little over 18 ft tall.
